Admissions & Fees

Greenfield Little School offers year-round care to all children aged 6 months to 4+ years, preparing them to transition into Reception in the September prior to their fifth birthday. Places in Little School Nursery fill up fast, and so we encourage parents to apply early to avoid disappointment. Contact Head of Admissions, Mrs Rust, to discuss availability or arrange a tour with our Nursery Manager, Mrs Swords.

The Admission Process

Registration costs £100 and will place your child’s name on our entry list or waiting list, depending on availability. This is followed by taster visit(s) and then a firm offer. Places are secured upon payment of the entry fee deposit and signing of contracts.

Due to the often limited availability in Little School, families are advised that the process moves swiftly when places become available.

Sessions

Parents must commit to a weekly session schedule for their child. A session is either am (07:30-13:00) or pm (13:00-18:00). A full day counts as two sessions. Ad-hoc additional sessions can be requested but are subject to availability and staffing.

Children in Fledglings (0-2 years), Owls (2-3 years) and Robins (3-4 years) must attend a minimum of 6 sessions per week and at least one of these sessions must be on either a Monday or a Friday.

Nursery Fees

Little School fees are charged monthly and payment is due in full on or before the first day of the month. The cost of all meals and snacks is included, but nappies and formula must be provided. Our full fee schedule can be viewed here.

Nursery FAQs

What is the minimum attendance requirement?

Children in Little School must attend for a minimum of 6 sessions per week. These can be morning sessions, afternoon sessions or a combination of the two. For example, your child could attend four mornings and one full day (5 morning sessions and 1 afternoon session). Or they could attend three full days (3 morning sessions and 3 afternoon sessions). All children must attend at least one session on either a Monday or a Friday.

Can my child attend fewer sessions per week?

Unfortunately, we are not able to make exceptions to our minimum attendance requirement. At Greenfield, we require that children attend minimum requirements to ensure they are receiving the full benefits of our EYFS curriculum. In turn, this helps us retain excellent staff and supports the specialist teaching/practitioner input the children receive from their very first day.

What is included in the Nursery fees?

Morning sessions include breakfast, snack and lunch. The afternoon session includes snack and tea. All resources and any trips or workshops are also included.

Children at Greenfield Little School benefit from the use of our onsite Forest School, weekly music sessions with one of our school music teachers and a weekly PE session with one of our school sport coaches. They make use of their dedicated outdoor playgrounds as well as the soft play equipment and school resources that most nurseries do not have the space or funds to offer.

Nappies and formula are not included and must be provided by the parents.

Do you accept Government funding?

We do not accept the FEET funding for 2 year olds.

We do accept the 15 hours funding from 9 months to 4 years, as well as the 30 hours funding for 3 and 4 year olds. Our minimum attendance requirement is greater than 15 and 30 hours and therefore all families should expect to pay for additional hours.

How and when will I be invoiced?

Invoices for children in Little School are sent via email in advance of each month. Payment is due on or before the first day of the month.

Invoices for any children attending term time are invoiced ahead of each time, in line with the main school.

How do I apply?

We encourage all families to come and visit the nursery and meet our Nursery Manager, Mrs Swords. If you are keen to get your child’s name down before visiting, you can request the registration documents from our Head of Admissions, Mrs Rust, who will also be happy to schedule in your visit.
